Today, I took another look at James Stewart’s portrayal of a politician in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

Seems to me that it would make great required viewing for politicians, new and old, in my home country and province, as well as the United States.

Here in Canada, we are concerned about the proroguing of Parliament, the possible misuse of the process.

It was refreshing to see a, by today’s standards, naïve politician in awe of the city and buildings at the heart of his country, plus his efforts to work for the best interests of country and citizens.

This movie is worth a second or third look. Enjoy.
