In this past year, bookmaking has become a hobby of mine. It provides opportunities to be creative in making something and it also enables me to recycle and reuse so many everyday items.

I wrote about this earlier in the year.

Lately, I have found a new focus in this activity–making a commonplace book; that is, a notebook for recording quotes and ideas on which you might want to reflect further. It is an individual resource that can provide a bit of focus in this glut of information that surrounds us. You can read more about it in my Guest Post at

If starting a commonplace book appeals to you as an activity you might wish to pursue, send me a comment. Would be great to hear about it!
