CONFLICT IN THE BACKYARD!

Well the fog has lifted and the day is taking on a special glow!

Each day I look out the window, checking to see what’s new or just to admire the vista from our hill-top house.

Sadly, I do not always see what I expect to see and I am reminded that, beautiful as Nature is, there is always an element of conflict , some winners, some losers.

Inspired by a conflict themed poetry prompt (30 words or less) at

Imaginary Garden With Real Toads.

I wrote this poem about a real-life incident.

View From the East Window

Red-tailed hawk so big

Perched atop brown chain-link fence

Head dipping down often

Takes flight with wings spread wide

No chipmunk scampering on the deck today.
