You and your children or students may often have wondered Where do the Animals Go When it Rains?
Well, Janet Crown and her three sons, Henry, Jack and Sloan have written a book with that very title! Their collaborative book answers as to the whereabouts of a few well-known creatures in rainy weather–bears, deer, rabbits and others.
Their book, illustrated by Daron Rosenberg in nature tones of green and brown and blue, captures the various animals seeking shelter in trees and woods and caves. Drawings illustrate how the adults ensure that the young ones are protected from the elements.
No spoilers here but there is one spritely green creature that hops up to the plate to enjoy the showers!
This story is told in simple rhyming text with an easy-to-read font and many colourfully bolded words to catch the eyes of young readers.
By the way, this book has an extra special feature, too, as the funds from book sales are donated to The Painted Turtle, a group that offers children with varied medical conditions the chance to have a camping experience. To quote from the website, it is A member of Paul Newman’s renowned SeriousFun Camps (formerly the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps), The Painted Turtle has offered thousands of children and their families hope and encouragement through its Summer and Family Weekend camps since it opened its gates in 2004.
If you are looking for a book that offers some answers to curious young minds, you will enjoy sharing this one! It is a great Spring read!
