SPRING INTO EARTH HOUR 2014!

Well the past year has passed so quickly since we celebrated Earth Hour in many countries and communities.

Hope all have a special hour this year for reflection about this amazing planet on which we live.

Poetry Month is coming up as well so there will be lots to write about in the coming days.

Sometimes, I am inspired to write a poem or two about these two events. One such poem is found at http://www.chapterandverse.ca/poetry/315-observations-on-earth-hour.html .

Have a great weekend, All! 🙂

WEARIN’ OF THE GREEN, OR NOT!

Flashback was the theme for a poetry prompt this week at IGWRT.

SHAMROCK
SHAMROCK

That set me to thinking as I looked out the newly painted window frame of my writing room.

Snow is falling fiercely. On the bright side for mid-March, it is only supposed to storm for a day; however, in this winter of winters, I will be glad when the white stuff is melted from the yards and street curbs.

This year, even the shamrocks did not make it through the usual process of resurrecting themselves; hence, this photo from a previous year.

These days take me back to winters of the late 60s and early 70s, many missed days of school and other life events. Particularly, I recall a cancellation of the annual St. Patrick’s day concert for which my friends and I had practised our songs and dances for a major dramatic production. Alas, the weather dictated otherwise.
