Flashback was the theme for a poetry prompt this week at IGWRT.
That set me to thinking as I looked out the newly painted window frame of my writing room.
Snow is falling fiercely. On the bright side for mid-March, it is only supposed to storm for a day; however, in this winter of winters, I will be glad when the white stuff is melted from the yards and street curbs.
This year, even the shamrocks did not make it through the usual process of resurrecting themselves; hence, this photo from a previous year.
These days take me back to winters of the late 60s and early 70s, many missed days of school and other life events. Particularly, I recall a cancellation of the annual St. Patrick’s day concert for which my friends and I had practised our songs and dances for a major dramatic production. Alas, the weather dictated otherwise.

I flashed back with you, Patricia. In 1949 the only way out of our house was for Dad to climb out an upstairs window and walk across the back porch snow level high.
