June flowers are bustin’ out all over here in southwestern Ontario!
Shasta daisies, almost decimated two winters ago, have started to bloom. Yellow day lilies are bright spots in the perennial mix.


Also, the first rose of summer has made an appearance!

Each summer, the perennial garden is an ongoing delight as blooms come and go.
My favourite, though, has to be the lavender. This perennial herb is pretty to see as it waves in the breeze; also, it brings such a sweet scent to passers-by and to our house each time a window or door opens.
Today is a beautiful sunny day in June, so much for which to be thankful and to appreciate in the natural beauty that surrounds us.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup series is progressing. Flags from many countries are waving from car windows here in our community. This event seems to draw the world closer. Who will win?
