June is a special month — full of blooms and birthdays and weddings. Green lawns and a rainbow of garden flowers brighten up the city. Also, in this part of the country, June signifies the end of the school year, much to the delight of many children and families.

This weekend was picture perfect with temperatures, warm but not too hot, and a breeze that refreshed spirits and households. There is a bit of bliss in the air, no question. As for bliss, I am experiencing some of that joy now after discovering that my poem, Girls and Green Apples, is featured as the Monday’s Poem this week at leafpress.ca. Truly, I am thrilled and honoured. To read my poem, just click in the title to go to the site.

I would like to end this early June post on a note of thanks for the inspiration given to us by the late Maya Angelou.
