OCTOBER TREES A-RUSTLIN’

Such a beautiful October start! The trees are rustling just outside my window.

Others are leafing through the air.

Time to our 13-year old pup for a walk but wanted to share a bit of good news first. A piece of my writing is featured at a site started by Ontario author, Audrey Austin. Here is the link: http://smalltownauthors.blogspot.ca/2013/09/time-for-change-by-patricia-mcgoldrick.html .

Please stop by if you like. Leave a comment if you wish! Have a great autumn day!

2013 SHORT STORY MONTH!

Just a quick post here to celebrate Short Story Month!

2013 SPRING--MAY SKY!
2013 SPRING–MAY SKY!

Brian Henry’s Quick Brown Fox  is one of my favourite websites to follow. Brian Henry has a connection with all things writing from editing to workshops to teaching at Ryerson University.

Most especially, Brian provides a wealth of information for writers at his Quick Brown Fox site with current links, postings of written works such as this story, and sharing of correspondence from aspiring writers who have found recent success with an acceptance or publication of their writing.

Today’s posting of a short story is one of the reasons why I chose to follow the site.

Mistress Maggie , written by Carol Roots, contains all the elements of an entertaining brief fiction read–interesting characters, setting and, of course, the quintessential short story ending.

For a quick spring read, I recommend this story and, for ongoing updates in writing, check out this site, frequently!

Best to all on this special weekend!
