PERENNIALS A-BLOOM!

June flowers are bustin’ out all over here in southwestern Ontario!

Shasta daisies, almost decimated two winters ago, have started to bloom. Yellow day lilies are bright spots in the perennial mix.

Each summer, the perennial garden is an ongoing delight as blooms come and go.

My favourite, though, has to be the lavender. This perennial herb is pretty to see as it waves in the breeze; also, it brings such a sweet scent to passers-by and to our house each time a window or door opens.

IMG_2506ย Today is a beautiful sunny day in June, so much for which to be thankful and to appreciate in the natural beauty that surrounds us.

This week, I have had a poem published in the current issue of Halcyon. If you are looking for a summer read, just click on Halcyon.

As the week is winding down, hope all is well with everyone.

The 2014 FIFAย World Cup series is progressing. Flags from many countries are waving from car windows here in our community. This event seems to draw the world closer. Who will win?

Have a great weekend, all!

    Yes, resounding, yes.

    Congratulations on the publication, Patricia!!

Thank you for sharing the perennial beauties! I love the way they each take turns at the summer stage…each with their own special drama.

What happened to the daisies two winter’s ago?

Good to see you/your post! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks, Hannah! So true about each one having their own drama — well put!
RE: shasta daisies — the last two winters have been unpredictable and harsh with periods of ice and snow that seem to have taken their hold on my dear flowers. I read about it somewhere but now can’t find the link. Two years ago almost 2/3 of them died at the front garden. This year a few more, leaving me with about 10. Used to have so many blooms, oh well, at least their are still a few. Hopefully, they will expand as in the past. ๐Ÿ™‚
